About Us

Although there is a growing trend in international emigration from states like Kerala and Tamil Nadu, especially among youth seeking education and employment abroad, students and individuals from poor and marginalized communities remain largely excluded. Barriers such as lack of funding, awareness, and access to essential information prevent them from pursuing global education and career paths.

Recognizing this critical gap and the need for safe migration, language proficiency, and cultural integration, the Latin Archdiocese of Trivandrum located at the sea coast of Kerala, south India established the Waves International Language Learning (WILL) Centre through Trivandrum Social Service Society (TSSS), which is the social action wing of the Archdiocese in order to equip the aspirants especially from disadvantaged backgrounds with the language skills and cultural integration primarily required to thrive in international academic and work environments promoting inclusive access to global opportunities, ensuring no one is left behind due to their socio-economic status.

History

A Short History of the Birth of Waves International Language Learning (WILL) Centre

The name WAVES apparently echoes the coherent concerns and urgent needs of the poor fishermen families inhabiting at the shore of the sea. The 80 percent of the population of the Latin Archdiocese of Trivandrum consist of small scale traditional fishing communities. Due to terrible impacts of the external large scale commercial vessels powerfully equipped with trawling gears have already signalled the death knell of the lives of future of fishermen. Moreover, the emerging global opportunities as well as the rapid flow of migrating to connect to the wider world in terms of pursuing international academic excellence and of acquiring highly qualified jobs have unfortunately remained hardly accessible for the children of fishermen and unorganised labourers due to various reasons. In this context, the WILL was established on 05/05/2024 by the blessing of His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Thomas J. Netto, Archbishop of Trivandrum Latin Archdiocese and His Excellncy Rt. Rev. Dr. Christudas R., Auxiliary Bishop.

Courses

German Language Courses offered at Waves International Language Learning Centre

A1: The Gateway to German

Duration: 2.5 months

A1 is the beginner’s level in German language learning, where students are first introduced to the fundamentals of the language. Just as a strong foundation is essential for a beautiful work of art, a clear and structured beginning is key to achieving meaningful results in language acquisition.

A2: Elementary Level

Duration: 2.5 months

A2 marks a stage of progressive immersion, where learners move beyond the basics and begin to engage in simple yet meaningful conversations. At this level, students refine their ability to communicate in everyday situations.

B2: Upper Intermediate Level

Duration: 3.5 Months

The B2 level signifies a transition from functional proficiency to sophisticated, independent language use. Building on the strong foundation laid in A1–B1, learners are equipped to comprehend and express more abstract ideas across academic, professional, and cultural domains.

B1: Intermediate level

Duration: 3.5 months

B1 is the intermediate level in German language learning. It prepares the students for the international examinations. As it is academically more rigorous and culturally immersive, only students who have successfully completed A1 and A2 levels are eligible to progress to B1.
